The mission of the Georgia Tech Black Alumni Organization (GTBAO) shall be to promote and facilitate the engagement of Black alumni with the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and the Institute as a whole. GTBAO shall also support the mission of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. The primary goals of GTBAO include:
1. Facilitate both professional and social networking of Black alumni, faculty, and staff through existing Alumni Association and campus events, as well as through the creation of new programs that provide professional development and networking opportunities.
2. Assist Georgia Tech in the recruitment and retention of Black undergraduate and graduate students.
3. Assist Georgia Tech Black Student organizations in the development of programs and networking opportunities.
4. Assist in the preservation of Black history on the Georgia Tech campus, and in the recognition of Black alumni and student successes.
5. Champion Roll Call participation amongst Black alumni.
